Carl Pratt – Director & Principal Mechanical Engineer
Carl has worked in Building Services Consulting Engineering since an apprentice at the age of 16 in 2001, has gained a lot of experience and has seen firsthand how several different companies ranging from small, medium and global scale businesses have approached the challenge to design building services systems for buildings. Carl has carried out project management, site work and risk management in the nuclear industry where the whole design and installation process is very closely controlled. Carl applies his project management skills to all projects, approaching each challenge individually, logically and efficiently.
Carl is accredited by CIBSE as a Full Member and the Engineering Council as an Incorporated Engineer, currently working towards ‘Chartered’status.
Carl has 17 years experience in the building services design industry and has worked for eight different consulting and contracting firms before perusing Octave Design Services Ltd as a trading business.

Outside of work Carl enjoys time with his son, twin daughters and wife. He is a keen guitar player in a local rock covers band and he enjoys running and weight training. Carl has completed four marathons and dozens of half marathons over the past decade.
Bob Eastburn – Technical Director & Principal Electrical Engineer
Bob is a versatile and adaptable Chartered Electrical Engineer, also with a very good understanding of Mechanical Building Services and comprehensive experience in the management, design, co-ordination and procurement of electrical and mechanical building services within a wide range of industries.
Bob is highly experienced in all stages of design and installation from inception to completion of projects including design management, co-ordination, design reviews, stakeholder presentations, fee proposal preparation, man hour estimates, design monitoring, initial definition reports, feasibility reports, front end engineering studies, feasibility studies, BREEAM compliance, specifications, design drawings, calculations, RIBA stage reports, CDM designers risk assessments, site survey work, attendance at meetings, preparation of tender documentation, tender evaluation and recommendation, monitoring standards of installation, witness testing and commissioning, defects inspections, work package management, delivery management of projects and engineers.
Bob has carried out many projects including Residential Apartment Schemes, Commercial Offices, Data Centres, Telecommunications, Industrial, Nuclear, Pharmaceutical, Food Process, Hospital, Water Treatment Plants, Schools, Auditoria, Retail, Hazardous Area, Leisure Centres, Substations and Network Infrastructure.
